Alley Pond Owners Corp. is a self-managed cooperative in northeastern Queens near the Nassau County border.
Built soon after WWII as a rental complex, it converted to a cooperative in 1985. It consists of 550 one and two bedroom garden-style apartments in 31 buildings and spreads over 35 acres of tree-lined streets and landscaped gardens. Along with ample public street parking, it offers 200 garages available to rent, 200 free on-site parking spaces, a laundry room and a playground designed for small children and equipped with a sprinkler.
For shoppers, stores are conveniently located adjacent to the property. For drivers, it is situated at the crossroads of four major highways and for those who commute to Manhattan, there is an Express Bus stop on the corner of the property. Located within the highly acclaimed School District 26, it is walking distance from two elementary schools and a short bus ride to several Middle and High schools. Bordering the complex is NYC’s Alley Pond Park with sports fields, walking and biking trails, picnic areas and ponds.
